Bondai Craft Brewery - Sutrio
A journey from BONDI to BONDAI. It's interesting to discover the story behind a name because there's almost always a story behind it. The name Bondai was born, as often happens with inventions, from a mistake, the wrong transcription of the name of a district in Sydney, BONDI, where our passion for beer was born. “Bon Dai” for the Friulians (or Carnians), is also an interjection used constantly to mean “okay, come on.” Here this union, this fusion between abroad and home, between the journey and home... is our main feature and is what you will also find in our beers!
We like that to tell you about our beers, we can take you to see where they are born, from which raw materials they acquire those aromas you perceive by smell or taste and make you feel the scent of the must. This is because craft beer reflects a philosophy of uniqueness that does not follow the criteria used in industrial beer production: drinking a craft beer means finding complex and personal aromas and flavors.
A craft beer is a product unpasteurized, unfiltered where selected ingredients are used without preservatives. The basic ingredients are water, barley malt, hops, and yeast. Our Taproom is an important branch of the brewery, it is a “company outlet” where you can exclusively drink Bondai beers on tap, (depending on availability and beers in production), or buy the cans directly.
The wooden venue creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, in short, a “good stay” (good to be). In the heart of Carnia, the Bondai craft brewery was born at a beautiful crossroads between the entrance to the village and the access road to the famous climb of Zoncolan.

The brewery was born inside an old furniture factory in Sutrio that over time has been recovered and used for the commercial activities of the place. It was the perfect opportunity to materialize a project that had been in our minds for a while but gradually came to life.
Here in the community of Sutrio you can find a wide range of small businesses like ours (cheese factories, butchers, trout farms, bakeries…) to stock up on excellent gastronomic products. Eating and sleeping then will not be a problem, Sutrio is rich in welcoming restaurants and accommodation facilities. And what about Zoncolan? Summer and winter, its climbs tell stories of struggles and joys. Descending the slopes on skis or snowboards, going up with skins or snowshoes in winter or in summer by bike, on foot, on horseback or comfortably by car will always give you magical emotions. And along the entire route, huts and refuges will pamper you with their delicacies.
